Wire Harness Technician

Entech Staffing has a Wire Harness position available in Troy, MI.

Hours: 5:30- 2pm, if overtime 4:30am-3pm. Could work Saturdays.

Pay rate: $19/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembly:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.

  • Cutting, stripping, and crimping wires to the correct specifications.

  • Assembling wire harnesses by connecting wires to terminals, connectors, and other components.

  • Using hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and soldering irons.

• Installation:

  • Installing wire harnesses into machinery, or other equipment.

  • Routing and securing wires to ensure proper function and prevent damage.

  • Connecting harnesses to electrical systems and components.

• Maintenance and Repair:

  • Diagnosing and repairing faulty wire harnesses.

  • Troubleshooting electrical problems and identifying the source of malfunctions.

  • Replacing damaged wires, connectors, and other components.

  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance on wire harnesses.

• Quality Control:

  • Conducting quality checks to ensure that wire harnesses meet industry standards and specifications.

  • Identifying and correcting any defects or errors.

Required Skills:

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and schematics.

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

  • Knowledge of electrical wiring principles and practices.

  • Ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment safely and effectively.

  • Soldering skills (often required).

• Other Skills:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
