Job Position: Lead Teacher – Early Childhood

Description:

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a Lead Teacher for an educational institution in Flint, MI. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programs for children while maintaining a nurturing and supportive environment. This position involves collaborating with parents, faculty, and staff to ensure high-quality care and education. This is a temporary, full-time position. Monday – Thursday, 7:15 AM to 5:15 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement classroom programs aligned with the philosophy and policies of the institution.

  • Design and deliver a curriculum that meets the needs of individual children, considering their interests, developmental levels, and unique learning styles.

  • Provide meaningful opportunities for children to plan, carry out activities, and reflect on their learning daily.

  • Create and implement both small and large group experiences that are developmentally appropriate, including outdoor activities.

  • Design programs that are inclusive of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Maintain a well-organized and engaging learning environment indoors and outdoors.

  • Evaluate program processes to ensure continuous improvement and relevance to participants’ needs.

  • Support program quality improvement in alignment with DHS licensing, Michigan Quality Improvement Rating System, NAEYC Accreditation, and CACFP requirements.

  • Collaborate with parents to nurture parent-child relationships and facilitate parent education workshops.

  • Prepare monthly newsletters and conduct required parent-teacher conferences and home visits.

  • Observe, document, and assess children’s progress using High Scope Child Observation Record (COR).

  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, grant requirements, and policies.

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and sponsored events.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, parents, and staff.

  • Assist in the record-keeping process, including developmental screenings, assessments, and Individual Education Plans.

  • Use a team-teaching approach in collaboration with the Associate Teacher.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Center’s mission.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid Michigan teaching certificate with an early childhood (ZA or ZS) endorsement, OR

  • A valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, OR

  • A bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with a specialization in preschool teaching (or within three semesters of completing the degree).

  • One year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility.

  • Successful completion of a student teaching assignment at an accredited early childhood education center or Pre-K–2nd grade classroom.

  • Ability to meet the Department of Social Services Center Licensing Standards for health and staff.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Child Development.

  • Knowledge of the High Scope preschool curriculum.

  • One year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility.
