Benefit Administration Specialist
Job Description
The Benefit Administration Specialist is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of employee enrollments, eligibility changes, and qualifying life events for various client groups. This role ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements while providing exceptional customer service to insurance carriers, vendors, employers, and employees. This position is a direct hire in Bloomfield Hills.
Essential Job Functions:

Enrollment Processing:

Process Open Enrollment Elections, New Hire Elections, Terminations, and Life Events.

Verify enrollment completeness and proactively address missing information.

Work with clients and carriers to resolve Evidence of Insurability Requests.

Update benefit carrier systems and internal systems with enrollment changes.

Termination Processing:

Process terminations with benefit carriers and the online system.

Determine COBRA eligibility and process with the COBRA vendor, if necessary.

Customer Service and Support:

Assist clients with enrollment, termination, and general benefit questions and issues.

Respond to sensitive inquiries and complaints effectively.

Provide timely and exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Conduct regular audits to ensure enrollment accuracy.

Resolve audit items promptly and efficiently.

Adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Administrative Tasks:

Perform various administrative tasks, such as data entry, file management, and report generation.

Assist Client Experience and Analytics teams as needed.

Qualifications:
-
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience and data entry

Preferred Experience: Human Resources/Benefits experience

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Employee Navigator

Knowledge: Customer service principles, technical competency, and understanding of benefit administration processes

Skills: Data entry, prioritization, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, time management, and ability to work under pressure
Pay:
$50,000.00 to $55,000.00
